Can't find J2EE Visual Administrator.

Hello!

I have Java Application Server 710 installed. I want to turn on debugging permanently, so i need to do it from the J2ee Visual Administrator. The problem is that the guide i have refers to the previous version of Web AS, and i can't find where the program is located. It should be called go.bat in ../j2ee/admin, but i have no such "admin" folder.

If i open in IE this address: http://localhost:50000/index.html ; there is "SAP NetWeaver Administrator". There i can see the options i need to change, but i can't edit them. Is this kind of control panel for the server instance only for viewing the server properties or there is some way to use the NetWeaver Administrator instead of the Visual Administrator?

Thank you for your time.

Yes, i know where the NetWeaver Administrator is located. I can open it and use it. But for some reason i can't edit the options. For example, i wanted to permanently enable debugging on the server, but the NW Administrator only SHOWS the options, i can't EDIT them.

Anyway, i found some kind of "Java AS Config Tool" (can't remember if this was the right name, something similar) in the directory structure of the server instance. With it was able to change the options i desired.

For now, it solves the problem.

But the NW Admin looks nice and it will be great if i can use it.

Hi,

I think the options are disabled in the NWA since it is configured in that way. Please check the configuration.

The details of configuring the NWA is under this link:

http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwpi71/helpdata/en/44/bc872fc60b7006e10000000a155369/frameset.htm

Hope it helps.

For complete documentation of the same you can refer http://help.sap.com/content/documentation/netweaver/docu_nw_71_design.htm

Hi,

Yes, the Netweaver administrator replaces the visual administrator for administering and troubleshooting SAP netweaver systems.
