hi

What srinivas suggested is correct but for any MDM project there might be group of resources and easily you can start of your career in MDM and slowing think on Technical issues.

But definitely you can go for MDM as there is lot of functional

knowledge is required here. In Real Implementation lot of Functional Expertise is required and the functional role will be definitely major but w.r.t client business scenario.

hi lohiya,

Should I learn XI and ABAP concept first and then start learning MDM or can I directlt start from MDM? if yes then from where should I start.

you can start with MDM and simultaniously when you are working with integaration scenario's prior to that learn ABAP/XI.

In MDM: you can start with MDM tools:

Conole, Import manager, Data manager, Syndicator.

hope this may help you,

hi lohiya,

To Learn MDM, as an SAP MM consultant, you can learn. There are no prerequisites.

To work with integration scenario's like,

R3 --> XI --> MDM, MDM --> XI --> R3, you need ABAP knowledge and XI Knowledge.

When ever you are extracting data from R/3, The standard is in the form of IDOC, MDM will not understand IDOC messages. So the data from R/3 ( IDOC format ) will send to XI. XI will convert IDOC Messages to XML messages, and these XML messages send to MDM.

From MDM when ever you are Harmonizing back to remote clinet systems, The data will be in XML format and we will send it to XI, XI will convert XML messages to IDOC Format and send to R/3.

SAP recommends you should know XI to be a MDM Consultant.

hope this may help you,
