Versions in Quotation

Former Member

Hi Gurus,

Is there any Versons in the quotations. This is needed beacuse,

Ex., First we have given a Quotation to a Customer with X price, and the customer has agreed to pay Y price. In this case either we need to manually change the Pricing condition type or we will generate a new Quotation with the Agreed price.

In my case if I only change the Price, I need both the Versions of the Quotation with X price and Y price.

Is there any solution for that.

Thanks & Regards

VASU

There is no quotation version as such but what you can do is create a new quotation w.r.t earlier quote and make the necessary changes and then save it as a separate quote. This way you can reference either of them while creating the Order.

As to alternative items in a quote, thats possible.

hi,

I cannot create a sales order with reference to any of the quotations.

I mean, if for example i create:

- quotation 1

- quotation 2 with reference to quotation 1

- quotation 3 with reference to quotation 2

I cannot create a sales order with reference to quotation 2, as the following error appears: "The reference has already been completely copied or rejected"

any solution for this?

Thanks!

Hi Ranjeet,

Thanks for ur reply,

I need to have Both in a single Quotation Number in Versions.

I do not know Exacatly, but I think the Version concept is there in MM for RFQs. Correct me if I am wrong.

Like the same way do we have in SD for quotation, so that we can compare both quotayion in future..

Hi

You can use the Document Change Feature available

Sales Order > Environment > Changes.

Option II

You can shoot a print out as soon as you save the Quotation. This will give your orignal Quotation.

And can have the Option as Revised Quotation for any Reprint.

Hi Vasu..

Seem's like and interesting scenario, however unlike program versions sap doesn't yet have an option to have two versions of a same document. you can try one of the above tips or then go in for enhancement where-in you can have version for your document.

Hi

With the same number two quotations cannot be maintained. you can maintain some prefix or suffix for the first quotation number and that can be the document number for the subsequent quotation. This can be achieved by using userexit.

Hi Ravi,

Do you have more details about that user exit?

Thanks!

Hi

Create a new quotation with reference to the first quotation and then you will have a record of both the quotations and these should be available through document flow.

Hope this is one way of meeting your requirement.

Thanks,

Hi all,

But the Quotation Number should be the same.

I think version is there in the Purchse Requisition in MM

in the same way do we have anything like that for Quotaions
