Regarding Changes after transport of interfaces from PI Prod to PI Dev??

Hi All,

presently we are changing all our running interfaces from XI3.0 to PI7.0, Some Basis people transported all objects from XI3.0 production system to PI7.0 Production system. They made some Changes like RFC destination in R3 Production system to indicate PI7.0 instead of XI3.0 Production system. Now the interfaces running perfectly after making changes according to PI7.0 production system. PI7.0 Development system is not yet configured. Once they will configure the PI7.0 Development system, then they will transport the PI7.0 production system objects to PI7.0 Development system. what are the changes that i should make to make them run in PI7.0 Development system {like changing all the ALE settings according to R3 Development system and pi7.0 Development system system}. Once i made changes they has to run in PI7.0 development system with respect to R3 Development systems.

Note:-

1)Some of you might have doubt why cont we transport interfaces from xi3.0 Development system to PI7.0 Development system Because all objects were deleted in xi3.0 development system.

2) we are still having alternative to develop the transport targets in PI7.0 production system and then we can transport them to PI7.0 Development system, then changes will automatically populate in PI7.0 Development system. Basis Guys are not agreeing to do this type of things in PI7.0 Production system.

Madhu,

Your basis guys are absolutely correct. They would not allow that because that is going against the track in reverse direction.

With respect to Repository objects, just use file transportation. Export them from P sys and import them into D system. Make sure that you have the software components present in the DEV system prior to this.

Now, the directory objects, Since it would deal with TS and BS and you producton BS systems might not be your DEV BS.

So,

1. Create you directory objects from scratch in your dev system (If they are straight forward with no BPMs involved)

2.This is risky. When you use file transports, the BS details would be transported as they are as the targets are not defined for P BS in SLD. You would end up having the same BS names in DEV systems. And your already configured Transportation destination will be lost or of no use.

I strongly recommend step one.
