Reg: XI_CMS Transports. I need this forum reply very urgent. Please help me

Hi! Gurus,

This is Amar Srinivas Eli.I am workig on Production Support project. Herehave one doubt regarding CMS Servers

Actually according to my knowledge XI Content aca be transfered from DEV>QA>PROD XI servers using CMS transports right?

But for this Actually one CMS Server is enogh right? that means here XI DEV Server is X42

QA X44

PROD X46

For cms server link is [http://sapr3001.geips.ge.com:54200/webdynpro/dispatcher/sap.com/tc_SLCMS~WebUI/Cms]

but client is asking why we a re not able to access this

http://sapr3001.geips.ge.com_:54400_/webdynpro/dispatcher/sap.com/tc_SLCMS~WebUI/Cms for transporting XI content

I think he is thinking that like XI portals for CMS also there will be 3 individual cms links are there right?

But is it wrong or my argument is righ? at which my arguement is only one CMS Sever is enough that means one link is enough right?

NOTE::

Please provide exact CMS transport link procedure other that the linnk contaning "How To Transport XI Content Using CMS

Version 1.00 – October 2005"?

here in this only one procedure is there I want an exact procedure of how to transfer SLD systems means business and logcal and software components from all DEV>QA>PROD?

I need entire produre of transfering Business systems?

Please Kindly guide me in step by step procedure regarding this with Screen shots so that it may be helpful to me.

Amar,

Yes. One CMS is enough to do the transports. While defining the Track Data you need to give all the 3 URL's (DEV,QA,PROD).

Hi! Raj,

Yes I have given 3 URLS of all DEV,QA, PROD but I have still one doubt on left hand side of CMS Screen

General Data

CMS Server: X42

Domain: X42

below that

X42 IR and

X42 ID is thereMy question is we are giving 3 urls but IS it domains also one is enough or all 3 domains I need to create? and for while transp[orting from X42 -->X44 Is need to change X44 in General Data .

Please kindly clear in this aspect?

Also provide other than the above links I want an Eact SLD transports means Exact from END TO END i.e., from starting to ending procedure with Screen shots ? Please provide other than the above links.

Amar,

The Domain data states the DEV SLD and URL, coz you need to start ur transports from DEV to PROD.

Hence Domain data only one is enough, Tract Data depends if it's DEV->QA->PROD or it can be DEV->PROD.
