MSCS without joining domain

Hi,

Need a suggestions from you guys:

1) Can I do the MSCS configuration without any domain whatsoever?

2) Is there any impact if I assign the virtual name, ip and db on a Shared Storage?

3) Since it'll be on a localhost, do I need to assign the virtual name in hosts file?

MSCS is only possible within a Windows Domain.

Windows Server 2003 Domains did need a DNS server.

1) not supported, see installation guide for details, SAP on MSCS can run as domain installation only

2) ??? if you mean SAN, you can use it to store DB files, SAP folder etc. must be only configured properly

3) it depends. if no DNS is available, you make the name resolution it in hosts file, otherwise in DNS
