Capacity category is not assigned to this work center

Hi,

when creating a work center with the transaction IR01 I try to assign a capacity category to the work center but receive an error message saying "Capacity category is not assigned to this work center". Which transaction do I use to assign a capacity category to a work center?

Enter the Capacity Category in the Tab 'Capacities' first and then use it in the 'Scheduling' Tab.

I don't think there is any configuration involved here. It's done straight away in T Code IR01.

Does ur scenario needs specific capacity category ( to determine whether it is machine or labor capacity so that allocate capacities of different capacity categories to a work center).

If ur scenario require specific category other than STD then u need to create using CR11.otherwise can follow the standard Capacity category like machine / person / etc based on ur requirement.
