Is there a transaction in R/3 which shows information about the I/O for the database (MS-sql)?
I'm interested in max peak I/O for the DB on our R/3 PRD system. Is it possible to see this information from a SAPgui?

I use ST03 for performance tracking.
If you have CCMS, you can get a good view of the ms resonse time for each data file through that. I think its transaction rz20 and then SAP SQL Monitor.
