Hi Gurus,
Can you please tell me what's the use of the the status group in incompletion procedure?
Can I assign one sales office to more than one sales area?
Thanks,
Paul
This status groups are eventually assigned to the specific field in the incompletion log. Thus, it is possible to specify in a sales doc that field A may be incomplete, but not hinder the doc from being processed further, while field B may be incomplete and be the cause of the same doc being blocked for further processing. The status groups will be assigned to field status in define incompletion proc.

hi,
In the status group, you define which functions may be carried out for an incomplete sales and distribution document, or for the items where a field entry is missing. You use this function to block a document for delivery, billing, or pricing. In addition, you can check at header level whether the general data is complete.
Example
Fields that are defined for deliveries do not also have to apply to the billing document. If you allocate the relevant status group to these fields in the incompleteness procedure, you can create a billing document for the incomplete sales order but not a delivery

Dear John,
Checking Fields with Incompletion procedures for Delivery
Define your incomplete procedures in OVA2.
There are 3 levels :-
Groups
Procedures
Fields -> 1. here you define the Status Group to used
2. you define whether a warning message should be issued
Assign incompletion procedures to partner functions in SM30 - V_TPAR_VUV
Assign incompletion forms to the delivery types in SM30 - V_TVLK_VUV
Assign Incompletion Forms to the Delivery Item Types in SM30 - V_TVLP_VUV
Define the Status Group in SM30 - V_TVUVS
You use this function to block a document for delivery, billing, or pricing etc.
In an incompletion procedure you group together the fields that are to be checked for
completion. If you have not entered data in one of the fields in the document, the document
is incomplete. Depending on the status group you can block certain subsequent activities for
the document.
For every field in the procedure you also have to define whether a warning message should be issued during processing if no data is entered in this field.
Hope this helps you.
Let me know in case of any queries.
Regards,
Rakesh

Hi,
Status group will determine whether you want to carry out certain activities enough though your sales document has some incompleteion log items.
If you want to restrict few activities if certain values are not maintained in the order, you can do do.
Hope you find it helpful.

Hi,
Using status groups, you can determine which status messages appear when you process different documents. The status group also provides the link, during sales order processing, between the incompletion log (where the system prompts you to enter data in required fields) and the header and item status screens in the sales document.
The fields that appear in the incompletion log are defined for each sales document by an incompletion procedure, where you assign a status group to each field. Then, during sales order processing, if you omit to fill a required field, the system
prompts you for the relevant information in the incompletion log
records the status messages in the sales document, according the assigned status group
For Sales office
you can allocate as many sales offices as desired to the sales areas. Any one sales office can belong to several sales areas at the same time.

Hi,
Status group basically signifies how the field should behave in order processing if maintained in incompletion procedure.
For example:incoterms are not important at order level but are imp at delivery / billing level.
Hope this clarifies .
Thanks,
Pramod

Hi
With reference to your first question, the status group in the incompletion procedure is used in addition to the incompletion indicator. i.e.,
you can set the incompleteness indicator in VOV8 in the document type, and also update the status group in the incompleteness procedure.
When the incompleteness indicator is not present, the status group will be used in the incompletion check. The status group is assigned to each field in the incompleteness procedure.
For example, a delivery can be created and can be picked but the status group can be used, such that a PGI is not possible.
Hope this helps.

Dear John,
There are three basic things for settings incompelete item.
1)grops ,(this is somthing which is applicable to specific part say sls header or item and likewise)
2) procedure (this is coplete thing which going to be assinged to doc.type, item categ, scedule line and likewise)
3)field.(which decides which field should go through scanner while processing.
4th and final status gp.( which decide reaction of a system in case of incoplete field during processing w.r.to different miles stone- say in order, dlv pgi and billing)
status gp is assigned at field level.( so that all miles stone of process can be goverened by this particular status gp in absence of a particular field.)
group is not related dirctly its just for categorisation.
Your case: if you have choosen dlv in status gp and inturn this will assigned to a particular field say shipping pt in procedure sls order itm and again this procedure will assign to group sls item or any other part.
Reaction:You can specify, for example, that item data in a sales order is incomplete and cannot be processed for delivery without information about shipping pt . If, during sales order processing, the shipping point is missing, the system records an appropriate status message.
