Mostly in HR all the integrations with various systems such as Employee assesment and coustomized HR systems to SAP is very much possible with XI.

Please go through below links to get the scope of Netweaver XI.

SAP had given the buzzzz of eSOA, SAP XI/PI will be the kwy entity in this E-SOA concepts.

Hi ,

A person with ABAP knowledge is excellent resouce for SAP XI as XI requires good amout of ABAP knowledge/SAP general knowledge.

XI is good choice. SAP is taking this tool very seriously and doing lot of marketing for it. Well SAP is moving towards openstandard like java etc. and promoting netweaver is their future platform. So it makes sense if you are shifting to XI.

Integration domain is always in demand as every big firm thinking about IT consolidation which require integration of different platform.. and considering that 45% of all word ERP run on SAP . SAP XI has good future.

That is my personal views. I have worked on TIBCO , Webmethods and now SAP XI. I like EAI it requires lots of knowledge to be in integration tech. You need to know a bit of every technologies depending on which systems you are integration.

For ex. if you want to integrate SAP with Oracle database, then your abap knowledge will be good, plus you will have chance of learning oracle pl sql, stored procedures etc.
