RFC Multiple clients

In one of the scenario we are using from R/3 we are sending Delivery orders using RFC Adapter(Synchronous) to XI and XI sends to our customers, using JDBC adapter (Synchronous).

Question 1:

Now we want to add one more client in the R/3 system? So how exactly we can approach the problem? (Shoud I need to create a Business system in SLD and just create one more scenario in the Directory?)

Question 2:

Also how an RFC system in R/3 is connected to an XI system, if this is thru SM59 then the Sender service name that we give XI is any random name?

Experts , need your view points. Thanks

Hi Karen,

yes, sender RFC is connected to XI through RFC destination (SM59). The sender service name will be the business system name for this R/3 system in SLD. The XI and R/3 are linked by comman program id (configured in SM59 of R/3 and sender RFC adapter both should be same).

Anand, Thanks for your feedback. But I am not clear with the following statement you made

"The sender service name will be the business system name for this R/3 system in SLD."

So where do you define this Sender Service in R/3?

Karen,

I hope you have already maintained your R/3 system in SLD as business system. In your confifuration in ID the business system name of this R/3 will be used as a sender service for your receiver determination, interface determination etc..

while configuring just add this business system to your scenario in ID...

Also Refer michals weblog...

Hope this is clear..

Can any one send more details about the Purpose of Technical system and a Business system. If you refer any blog, that will be also really appreciated.

Karen,

Some info on Technical and Business Systems from SAP help..

· Business systems, which name the logical receiver independently of technical properties. For example, a business system might be a client of an SAP system.

· Technical systems with which the hardware of the system is specified in more detail (server data, and so on).
