No connection to database, session terminated

Hi,

We have some issues connecting to our ecc6. When we try to logon from sapgui, there's this message "SAP system message: No connection to database, session terminated".

SAP management console show green status, and oracle services show started.

We are using Oracle 10.2.0, windows Server 2003 Enterprise x64, 5.2.3790 SP2. The database and application are all within the same box.

How to check when and why the database got disconnected? May i know what files to look at?

appreciate any guidelines.

Check the connection to database, from the user SIDadm -- > in console "R3trans -d".

If connect is ok you see "R3trans finished (0000)." Next step -->

check the parametrs in sap logon may be the system numer is not 0 or 1 ) check the IP to.

Thanks and regards.

Hi,

If R3trans finished (0012), then chek the TRANS.log file, for further analyse.

Also check the parameters with sappfpar, this tool can be used for checking the profiles after changes and before restarting the SAP system, and then analyse that whether any parameter has to be modify accordingly.

Thanks and regards

your database is probably down.

check if an offline backup is running. check if database is up.

also check with your OS people to see if any network card has problems.
