Incomplete Directory Objects import

Former Member

Hi All,

We are trying to import a TPZ file (for a whole scenario). Not all objects in the scenarios are changed. Both export and the import of the TPZ files are without any error.

However,in the target directory under the imported scenario, some (random) objects are missing.

When the missing objects are seperately put into a TPZ file, the import into the target directory is successfull.

Does anyone know why this is happenning and how to fix it.

Regards,

Bikram

Hi,

This may help you....

how to do transport objects from DEV to QA>

In Integration Repository object:

Right click on the Namespace which you want to send to Quality system and select the export optin and export

it....this will create a .tpz file on the server following path

\usr\sap\<SID>\SYS\global\xi\repository_server\export\sample.tpz

<what to do after creation of .tpz files for DEV>

This file will be copied and pasted in follwoing path of QA

\usr\sap\<SID>\SYS\global\xi\repository_server\import\sample.tpz

Similar procedure for directory

Right click on the configuration scenarion in development which you want to send to Quality select the export

optin and export it....this will create a .tpz file on the server following path

\usr\sap\<SID>\SYS\global\xi\directory_server\export\sample.tpz

<how to reflect it in QA >

then login to the IR of the Quality select the Tools--Import option you will get this tpz file and import it and

activate.

Hi Bikram,

This might have happen during the transport…...

When you exported a tpz file of entire scenario it also included the "Deleted objects" from that scenario, so while importing objects might have deleted in the target system.

And when you exported a tpz file for only missing objects from the scenario, it could have restore back the deleted objects.

Hope this will help.

Hi Paul,

Plese follow the below steps while transporting objects from IR & ID.

Before exporting make sure that the objects are activated.

Perform the following to import/export ID objects.

1. To export or import directory objects, call the configuration maintenance screen of the Integration Builder.

2. Call the context menu for an object in a collaboration profile in the Integration Builder navigation tree and choose Export….or choose Tools ® Export Configuration Objects…

3. Select the Transport Using File System mode and follow the wizard’s instructions. When selecting individual objects, you can use drag and drop to drag the objects from the navigation tree and drop them in the object selection field.

The Integration Builder saves a binary export file with the suffix tpz in the export directory of the directory server

Do not change the file name of the export file. If you do, the Integration Builder will not accept it as the appropriate file when you import.

4. To import the export file(s) to another Integration Directory, first copy or move it to the import directory of the target directory.

5. Call the configuration maintenance screen of the Integration Builder for the target directory. Choose Tools ® Import Configuration Objects...

6. Select the export file saved in the import directory by using the dialog box that appears.

If the import is successful, the export file is moved to the subdirectory /xi/directory_server/importedFiles. The objects are not activated when they are imported into the target directory. They are visible in the change list of the user who imported them.

7. Check the imported objects in the change list and adjust the configuration data to match your system landscape, if necessary.

8. Activate the change list that contains the imported objects.

Hi,

When you are importing the directory objects the Communication channels and Business Service will not be available in target Directory.

You need to configure it manuualy. also make sure that you have imported the objects from SLD also other wise the relevant Business systems will not be available.

Ok,

I don't really know what is happening... it is very strange, but can be you are missing some detail when exporting the file. I suppose you are working on integration directory. It seems to be a simple process to export all integration scenario objects there, copy the file to target and import it. The only thing could be wrong there is using the option "transporting individual objects", and selecting wrong objects. Well, some tips you can try...

- Make sure to clear all files on the source and target directory, so you make sure the file you are importing/exporting is the correct file.

- Double check if all objects you are trying to export are activated.

- Double check if you all objects are related to the scenario you are working on (some times you are using objects that doesn't appear under the integration scenario tree...)
