Delivery scheduling

Hi Gurus,

During delivery scheduling (forward or backward scheduling), the ff. are being me tracked. order date, material avail, transportation planning date, GI date and transit date to determine delivery date. What if the transportation planning date is longer than the pick and pack date? how will the material avail check behave? will it start checking the mat. avail on the pick and pack date or the transportation planning date?

Thanks,

Paul

the system will not have any prority whether it has to check based on pick, pack time or Transportation planning time.

Actually the system will calculate the total no days/hours for the complete processing.

If the customer placed a delivery date, then system will compare the date and back calculate the total processing time(Backward scheduling) and from that it will try to find out the date as a material availability date. There is no preference as u said.

Hi Jhon,

when u r creating sales order first system will go with backward scheduling if it is not reach the dates then system will go for forward scheduling.

Backward Scheduling:

material available date+pick/pack time loading time transit time+transportation lead time

for ex order dated is 1st req deliver date is 10th assume like this

for pick/pack time = 2

for loading time = 2

for transportation lead time = 2

for transit =5

in backward scheduling from 10th

522+2 = 11days it is taking that means it crossing the order date ate the time it will go for forward scheduling

from 1st on wards 222+5 it will confirm 11th..

this is happening when the material is available on 1st.

If the material is not available then it will find material available date suppose that is on 3rd the sysstem will calculate like this 225 = 9 ( forward scheduling ) it will not consider Transportation lead time i.e( Lorry arrangement time ) because we can do this arrange ment between 1st and 3rd. then sys confirm on 3rd + 9days i.e 12th.

Pick/pack time system will pick up from shipping point Transportation time ( Trans lead time+ Transit time ) is from Route. Transit time means travel duration time..

i hope this will help you..

Hi Paul

Since the Transportation planning date and Pick pack dates overlap it would consider the once which would take longer duration whilst delivery scheduling. rest will be same

in this case, if the transportation planning date is longer than the pick and pack date, when will the system check the availability of the material? in a normal system, material checking starts at pick and pack. will the system still follow the pick and pack for the avail check?

Hi,

The system will follow the pick/ pack time only even if the transportation planning time is high.

Anyway, let us look for some more ideas from our experts!!!!
