while connecting to DB it's giving TNS Protocol Adaptor error.

Hi,

Check your environmental Variables and see wheather oracle SID is set?

use following command to set,

ORACLE_SID=<SID of DB>

use the user <sid>adm which is created during installation and has the right environment variables set to do all administrative work.
