Experts,
1) Can we consider material recipe (*) as master data? If yes, please share your idea. If No, please give the reason.
2) Or which part of material recipe can be considered as master data?
Material Recipe describe the process, the resource, the material components, also quality specifications of a product.
Helpful answers will be rewarded.

Hi John,
I think Master recipe cannot be considered as masterc data because master recipe(in pharma sectors) is similar to BOM & it is dynamic.
Gurus correct me if i am wrong.

Hi,
We should not consider receipts as part of master data.
See, we have master data definition which clearly tells that Master data rarely change but in receipt case it will get change after everytime when we will receive the material.
And also its not possilbe to keep all the reciept in master data.
Material receipts are transactional data.
Hope you understand.
Please reward if I answered it correctly.

Hi John,
It depends as per Situation.
Material Recipe refers to Item details. So it can be master data
suppose we have Material or product "Steel"
1. process includes Metallurgy, casting, forging etc.
2. resource includes vendor1, vendor2, vendor 3 etc who provide these reources
3. material components(Composition) Iron, Aluminiumetc
4 also quality specifications of a product in our case for steel for example Simple steel, Stainless steel, etc.
so in main table we include these 4 fields.
i think Srm-mdm catalog For vendors , product data give you more clarification.
Thanks,
