Hi Friends,
In which business scenario header division differ from Item division?
Thanks
Hi Shiva,
The customer is maintained in one Sales Area
Ex: AAAA BB CC
The one material is maintained in AAAA BB CC sales area
Second material Maintained in AAAA BB DD sales area.
If the customer want to buy 2nd material at the time header div becomes differ from item division..
In Pharmacy the cust is belong to Cardiologist div in some situation he given request for some other div material. in this scenario both will become differ..
Reward If Useful

Dear Friends,
I am working in a Pharma Company ..
We have different division Maintained for the different material .
Such as Immonuochemistry,Physiotherapy......
So for a particular customer we maintain the Commom division to solve the problem of the diffrent item division.

Dear shiv
Header Division is nothing but your sales area and item division is nothing but the division you maintain in material master.
In VOV8, if you leave the field "Check division" blank, while creating sale order (say your sales area 1000/10/00) for a material (1000/10/01), it will allow to create sale order. If you maintain "Error" here, it wont allow you to save the order.

The header division normally applies to all the items if it is not maintianed in the item. If it is maintained in the item then item has priority. So in the simple case if there is one item in a multiple list of items, then maintian only that item division in the item tabs and do not maintain it for the rest. Maintain a different division in the header. This will take cafre of the rest.
there is a tickbox item division is equal to the header division in the customising for sales document customising. If you tick that box then the division is read from the MM record into the header and the header division is valid for all items. If you do not tick it then the above scenario applies.

HI shiv Patil,
If Material is defined for other division and while creating sales order u might have entered different sales area then probably the system gives the message.
Thanks and Regards,
Rahul
