Hello,

I m doing SRM-MDM scenario.

I could use MDMGX transaction successfully for local download.

But i m getting following error while using Upload via FTP:

Error while executing ftp command cd "/MDM_ORCL/SRM_MDM_CATALOG_2/Inbound/ERP/LT_Cur

My MDM server is on one IP say a.b.cc.ddd

& I have installed GuidFTP on my machine............ IP x.y.zz.ppp

Now i want to send three XML files........ each to LT_Currencies, LT_ProductGroups & LT_UOM_ISO_Code folder of my MDM server.

These folders are inside
a.b.cc.ddd\sap\MDM 5.5\Server\Distributions\MDM_ORCL\*SRM_MDM_CATALOG_2*\Inbound\ERP

where SRM_MDM_CATALOG_2 is the name of my Repository.

In my GuildFTP i have created user with path *
a.b.cc.ddd\sap\MDM 5.5\Server\Distributio*ns

In MDMGX i m giving MDM_ORCL/SRM_MDM_CATALOG_2/Inbound/ERP/LT_Currencies as MDM root.

Now what is the value of "Address of FTP Server" ???

whatever i have given is correct?

Thanks,

maheshwari.

Hi Maheshwari,

if your FTP Server is installed on MDM server machine then just specify the IP address of MDM Server in the configuration parameter.

as "FTP://a.b.cc.ddd".

I think, which you have specify is correct.

In MDMGX i m giving MDMORCL/SRM_MDM_CATALOG_2/Inbound/ERP/LT_Currencies as MDM root._

Insteed of this, In MDMGX ,specify only "MDM_ORCL" as MDM root.

and Just goto FTP Server, open it and add root directory up to "MDM_ORCL" for a perticular user and then extract all the data with that perticular user.

you can also use the default user as "anonymous" which is specified in FTP Server,Just add only root directory.

Hope this will help you.

Hi,

Give the IP address of that machine in the configuration of "MDMGX" on which your FTP Server is installed.I dont think it will work but atleast try it.

I think the FTP Server and MDM server should be on same machine. In my scenario, I have installed the FTP server on the MDM server machine itself.

I have never tried with the diffrent machine for FTP.I am trying for the same.

as i get some conclusion, I will let you know.

Hi Maheshwari,

In MDMGX ,specify only "MDM_ORCL" as MDM root.

and In FTP Server, add the root directory for a user up to "MDM_ORCL" as mentioned below:

"C:\Program Files\SAP MDM 5.5\Server\Distributions\MDM_ORCL"

when you add the root dir to the user then you can see that root dir in the lower left pane, just click on that and give all the privileges (checked all the checkboxes).

then try it and plz let me know the result.
