The OS is windows 2003.

The error message is

Start profile
<Server_name>\sapmnt\<SID> \SYS\profile\START_DVEBMG Could not be read. The import is therefore not possible.

Please help

there should a start profile in that folder with name .

START_DVEBMGS<instance number>_<host name>.

if the file exists in that folder. give read permission to everyone.

just check whether u r able to open the file in a notepad, just to confirm the file is not corrupted.

This file exists in that folder

I have given complete permissions to the profile directory itself

I am able to open this in notepad

Please help

give permission to that file.

u should be able to open that file at os level, but u should avoid making changes to it at os level. so looks like the file is corrupt.

Hi Balaji,

Have you activated the Profiles, if not do this...

Execute Tcode RZ10 chose Utilities ->Import Profiles -> Of Active Servers

then it would be active mode.

If its help full you reward me points..

Add SAPService<SID> with full control and you will be able to import these file with no problem.

Hello Balaji,

looks like the combination of UNC path and file name is longer than 60 characters. [Note 1000897|http://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1000897] describes this problem.

Hi Balaji,

Check if there are some old profiles in you directory. Try to move them into some other folder and then with the clean directory only with the relevant profiles try to import it.

Secondly you check that if there is any junk character in the profile?

Best Wishes.

A quick test would be to run AL11, double-click the DIR_PROFILE line and see if you can see the profiles. If not, then the remote share probably is not mounted.

Hope that helps.
