Services without a party are typically used when configuring company-internal processes. Parties (with assigned services) are typically used when configuring cross-company processes.

You usually use business system services when configuring internal company processes.
You usually use business services when configuring cross-company processes. In this case, you only make your interfaces known to the business partners involved and either do not make any details about your own system landscape available, or only specific details.
Hope this helps,
Mike

Hi,
we use Party when we are dealing with B2B Integrations.
Service is used to represent Sender and Receiver applications involved in the Integration.
First of all you have to create a party and the you can assign the service to the party.
We cant differentiate those two.....Those two are bounded to each other

Hi,
Generally for B2B environment, senders or receivers are identified by different methods (for example, by using a DUNS number or an EAN number). In SAP XI, you specify all the ways to identify a sender or receiver by using the communication party object. This means that later on in the configuration, you do not need to work with various different identifiers. Instead, you simply use the communication party you have created, since it contains all the ways of identifying a sender or receiver. This procedure is known as sender or receiver normalization.

Hi Babu,
Party:
A communication party (party for short) represents a larger unit, which is involved in a collaborative process. Using a communication party, you generally address a company within a cross-company process.
You can assign a communication party one or more services to address it as the sender or receiver of messages.

Under party we have three options
1) Service
2) Business system
3) Integration process.
So based on scenario u need to select any of the options.
Thnx
