All,
We are to deploy the the New SAP GUI 7.10 across the user base. Historically we have been using the MSI to script and automate the install. We usually push the package to the client machines. The same approach seems to have issues with the new GUI 7.10.
The SAP application is being scripted using the Wise packaging application. This application takes a before an after snapshot of the application and the makes an MSI installation package out of that capture. I have been able to make a capture of the application but the issue is after the application installs when you click on the icon to launch SAP the application does not start. All the directory structure is in place but the application doesn't comes up.
Can anyone please help if they have gone through the same?

Hi,
Why don't you use the NWSAPSETUP supplyied by SAP itself. It will give facility to install the GUI in Silent mode via Login script to all the users or the users you want to install. Advantage of this will be that client get install in Autoupdate mode.
So Later on when there is an update for GUI. you have to update the server only. All the client will get updated automatically.
Hope this will help.
Regards
Virendra

Did you ever resolve this issue, we have a similar problem with WISE and msi files.

it this PC already had an older version installed (probably 6.20 or below), then the old shortcut won't work anymore, use the new one supplied in the START menu and delete all leftover icons that were left behind.

Do you see a process "saplogon.exe" in the task manager?
