Connect to SAP gateway failed

Former Member

Hi,

In trying to import RFCs from an R3 from XI but I get the error "Unable to establish connection to R/3 system <host> (system=02, client=420)" .

The user/password is correct because I can login into the R3 system.

If I try to call an RFC through XI, I get the error:

(102) RFC_ERROR_COMMUNICATION: Connect to SAP gateway failed

Connect_PM TYPE=A ASHOST=<host> SYSNR=02 GWHOST=<host> GWSERV=sapgw02 PCS=1

In TS SMGW I see connections using sapgw14 and sapdp00, but not sapgw02.

Any ideas about what can be wrong?

Regards,

Hi

ping your host and provide ipaddress at host address and look into transaction SMGW get your gateway service from there ..it should work .....host will be your r3 system where you maintain the rfc destination for xi system.

I don't have any rfc destination in the R3, because I'm calling a RFC.

Where does I look the system number to use in my R3?

Do what i have mentioned earlier.

Use Gate Host as Ip address or name of this R3 system you are using and Gateway service as smgw02.

Your problem will be solved.

Hi Alok,

I don't understand where I have to use smgw02, because I don't specify sapgw02 in any place neither.

the name sapgw02 is created by XI, I don't specify it.

My scenario is WS -> XI -> RFC .

My problem is solved.

There is a problem with the system number 02, so we're using the system number 00 now and everythink works perfectly.

Thank you very much everybody.

Hi Ismael,

Generally in Gateway service system use smgw<System Number>. In your case your system no is 02. So please provide Gateway host as Ip address or name of System 02 and gateway service as smgw02.

Generally, Always use Gateway host and Service of that system on which you are creating RFC destination.

Hope it will help.
