We take a full data backup of our LiveCache instance daily. My question is when you take a full backup (and it is successful) are any of the logs that are generated prior to the full backup needed any longer. My guess is no. But I would like to make sure this is correct.

you are right. After taking a full data backup of the LiveCache instance, you don't need the logs generated before the backup. However, following the precautionary principle, it is a good idea to keep the last few data backups and log backups, just in case you need them.
