When taking a full data backup

We take a full data backup of our LiveCache instance daily. My question is when you take a full backup (and it is successful) are any of the logs that are generated prior to the full backup needed any longer. My guess is no. But I would like to make sure this is correct.

Thanks

John,

you are right. After taking a full data backup of the LiveCache instance, you don't need the logs generated before the backup. However, following the precautionary principle, it is a good idea to keep the last few data backups and log backups, just in case you need them.

Aswath,

Thanks for the reply. I do maintain disk backups and logs to tape each night as well. You know what they say you are only as good as your last good backup.

Thanks
