Regarding Item Usage

Hi guru's

This is regarding Item Usage

How system is determining ITEM USAGE when u r maintaining this in item category determination at the time of FreeGoods,

Material Determination etc..

Document type : wat we are using that is sys determining

Item Ctaegory group is determind from material master ..loke this from where item usage is coming...

Usage explains about the items use in a particular scenario.

the item usage is taken from customer material info record for certain scenarios specific to the customer,

Please Goto VD52 and check...

But in the case of free goods and material determination, we aren't assigning it anywhere the usage, if the item is used in the particular context(scenario), the system automatically takes/assigns the usage.

*Note: u can create ur own item usages in SPRO and assign it at VD52 for ur specific requirements.*

When we are doing the free goods determinationor material determination, Item usage will be determined from Customer material info record (VD52).

Hi,

Item usage is one of the factors to determine the item categeory in the sales order.

Basically item categeory determined by 4 factors those are

sales doc type + item cat grp +item usage + H level item cat

so here u can get the item categeory based on item usage also

hope u undersatand..

Durga sana,

you can choose the usage for material at header or at item level in order cycle.(ifyou choose it at header level it will became applicable to all item)

Even its having the flaxibility to sell the same material with different usage to same customer.

go to VA02 double click on line item,under Sales A tab you will find the field for choosing usage from dropdown list.

hope this will help to resolve your confusion.
