log on group configuration

Hi all,

I configured logon group i have one CI and one appl server.

in smlg

Logon Group Instance status

SAPJAL AUTOSBUP Green

SAPJAL AUTOSBUA Green

But

in sapgui - in groups ....i am tring with SID and CI server IP.

if i click on genarete list it is saying sapmsPRD unknown

please let me know how to get resolve this

Hi satish,

you have to add this entry in services file

sapmsPRD 36<sysno> tcp/ip

Here's the exact entry that you'll need in the services file:

sapmsPRD 36##/tcp (## = system number).

please be carefully with the

sapms<SID> 36##/tcp

entry in the %windir%\system32\drivers\etc\services

file.

in the sapms<SID> entry the portnumber 36## is completely free and nowhere really bound to the systemnumber.

The default is 36<systemnumber>, but it can also be 4711.

If you are maintaining the services file of a workstation where a sapgui is running on then you have to use the entry of the server's services file to which the sapgui is going to connect.
