deactivate QM at plant level - urgent

Dear Consultants

We want to deactivate QM for some plants.

Say we have two plants P001, P002.

We maintain quality view for P001 with QM Proc Tick, QM control key and insp types. Here normal qm process will work.

But in other plant P002, we want only QM proc tick and QM control key and NO INSP TYPE. So that stock should not move to Quality after GR. But users are wrongly enter inspection type.

Can we deactivate QM in such a way that even if users have maintained insp type in material master, stock should not move to quality after GR (only for one plant). We tried to do this by authorisation but its not working.

Kindly revert.

Thanks

I just going to summarize for you.. a lot of the info has already been posted..

1 - No, you cannot deactivate QM plant by plant

2 - Once you maintain a procurement control key you must enter a procurement control key on all QM plant views. Hence the need to create a "dummy" one that has no functions behind it.

3 - You can use QA08 to deactivate all inspection types in a single plant quite easily. This should fix your existing problem.

4 - Going forward, you MUST solve your security issues.

a - Don't allow creation of QM views in the one plant. You might talk to your MM people. I think they can secure the creation of plant level screens by plant.

b - Limit the people with access to the material masters and train them well.

Dear,

To deactivate QM insp type for the material,

In the insp type set up in material master...you can deactivate the insp remove thactive tick for the inspection type.

If you want to retain the active tick and continue with inspction lot processing, but stock should not goto insp stock, then in the details of inspction type remove th tick from post to insp stock...so that when u do GR, system will post the stock to unrestrcited stock, but create a insp lot for your quality recording purpose.

I hope both options are clear to you.

QMK in procurement tick is at client level and if you deactive in QM view...it will decativate for all the plants.

HI Sagar,

Can you please elaborate why you need QM proc active in the second plant where you dont want stocks to move to quality?

QM Proc tick is in MARA i.e., its at client level. When we make this activate for one plant , system expects QM control key to be entered. We have created a dummy qm cont key for this. If we dont maintain this QM control key for other plant then system gives error message whenever we use the material at the second plant.

thanks

Hi,

Please try following method

Through Transaction QI05- Mass maintenance QM procurement Key, maintain dummy QM control key for the second plant(plant QM need to be deactive).

Dont maintain Quality view in material master for second plant.

(you can restrict this through Authorisation for that plant)
