Hi all,
I have the following question regarding DI.
1. where does the code resides ?
2. Can we get back the code incase the system crashes ?
3. Can we run two parael track on same machine ? if yes can the existing data be copied from one track to another.
4. We have a scenario were we have completed the dev for first release we are planning for the next release is there any methodology or standard practise which SAP recomends ?

1) All code resides in the Design Time Repository (DTR)
2) If your developer PC crashes, you can always extract the code again from the DTR. Only code not checked in before the crash will be lost.
3)Yes, you can copy SCs from different tracks, just need to setup track connections.
4)Take a look at this excellent [blog |https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/weblogs?blog=/pub/wlg/3390] [original link is broken] [original link is broken] [original link is broken];for ongoing development
