How to remove j2e instance on MaxDB 7.5.0 which is not really existing?

Hi,

I am using NW04 on MaxDB 7.5.0 build 18. I just uninstalled NW2004 WAS6.40 from folder c:\usr\sap\j2e\uninstaller.. . Secondly I removed the database from the file system with out uninstalling it. Again installed the MaxDB seperately from NW2004 installation files,it went successfully but it didn't show me "j2e" instance(folder under c:\sapdb like c:\sapdb\j2e) . Now when I try to install NW2004 again it shows me an error at step due to inconsistency removal of database. I can guess the problem is with J2E instance already existed but not really found on c:\sapdb\.

The info on log files is:

SAPinst is getting started.

Please be patient ...

guiengine: no GUI connected; waiting for a connection on host BANGARAM, port 21212 to continue with the installation

guiengine: login in process.

Hello Pandu,

-> Please update with additional information:

    • How did you remove the database from the file system with out uninstalling it?

Did you use the sdbuninst tool? < see SAP note 599129 >

    • Please update with the output of the following commands, run them as user in the sdba group:

xinstinfo J2E

dbmcli -s inst_enum

dbmcli -s db_enum

sdbregview -l

-> If you uninstalled NW2004 WAS6.40 & database correctly, you need also to remove the

old installation logs before to start the new installation.

May be you uninstalled the database correctly incorrectly by the removing the database

software manually, then the database registers still exist on the server & listed with

'dbmcli -s db_enum' => see if the SAP note 572836 could help you.

-> Please check in c:\sapdb\programs\bin, if you have the sdbverify tool:

sdbverify > check_software_install.txt

review check_software_install.txt & let me know the results.

-> Did you already created the SAP OSS message on this issue?
