Yes, you can install the sap netweaver on your laptop. Currently we had a demo laptop with ecc 6.0 with both stacks (ABAP+JAVA).

You only have to follow the installation guide. In the installation guide explain step by step the overview of the installation, the requirements in hardware/software, the installation, the post-installation.

Hi,

Netweaver is a commercial product. You need to be a SAP customer to download it....

There are some free trial versions to be found on SDN if I remember correctly.

You can install the trial editions or, if you are a licensed customer you can install the NW Developers Workplace which is a full fledged J2EE instance with Java AS, EP, BI. There is no ABAP in that one. The intent is to give a developer a fully working J2EE instance to develop and test in an independent environment.

it does have a DB of its own.. it installs maxdb, if you have found what you are looking for, please close this question.
