As mentioned in my blog, I am posting a set of questions on ESR in this forum as an interesting way of sharing relevant information with the community. In the true spirit of forums, the one who answers the question is rewarded!
Q - I want to set authorizations on who can edit the Service Interfaces I create. Is it possible? If so, how can I do that?
Hi,
Yes it is possible. IT was even possible in pre-PI 7.1 days using the concept of data-dependant authorisations. However, in the ESR it has become much easier to implement.
For instructions on how to do it in PI 7.0, click [here|https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/a005629b-c063-2910-0fb8-f57dc68abaca].
There is more information on SAP Help [here|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/d6/63f6413a15e23ee10000000a155106/frameset.htm].
Daniel Bianchin has written an excellent article on how to do this (and various other things) called 'Usability Features in SAP NetWeaver PI 7.1 Development and Configuration Times'. To access it, click [here|https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/a0e7734f-e969-2a10-24b6-df58a710941c].
