Want to Upgrade BRTools from 620 to 640 - How to manage recovery

I want to upgrade BRTools from 620 to 640 .Reading OSS note 680046 , a 640 backup cannot be used for recovery

by 620 , and vice-versa . This leaves a problem if a recovery is required through the change of software . How can this be managed ? What are the differences in the 2 versions ?

In order to be able to recover a 6.20 backup: Do not delete your 6.20 Brtools, just save them to a differrent directory. And copy them back, if you really have to recvover.

One obvious reason for the incompatibility: Logfile messages have 3 digits in 6.20, like BR123E, but 4 digits in 6.40, like BR0123E. These logiles are needed in case of a recovery.

after 1 week of usage, you should not need the old br*tools anymore. Why would anybody restore 1 2-weeks old databse and lose 2 weeks of work?
