I am running a patch 14 install on a ABAP+Java system to update the Java.

When I get to "Update JDBC driver" phase I get the following error messages in the log

I am aware that this says that the folder does not exist that it is trying to access. It exists as far as Common but the MSS folder does not exist.

I have extracted the SAR files into a temporary directory and this is where it is looking for the folder.

The files I have extracted are as follows:

J2EERT14_0-10001982.SAR

J2EERTOS14_0-20000118.SAR

The above extract into a folder called J2EE-RUNT-CD

CTRLDB214_0-20000118.SAR

CTRLDB414_0-20000118.SAR

CTRLDB614_0-20000118.SAR

SAPINST14_0-20000118.SAR

The above extract into a folder called SAPINST-CD

My question is that can anyone see if I am missing a SAR file? I am new to SAP and am still finding my way around.

Thanks in advance

Ronan.

I'm not quite sure if you really need 3 control files (CTRLDB....). I think yoo have to use only one that fits to your database & SP-stack.

kind regards, achim

Hi Achim,

Thanks I was using the wrong control file. I should have been using CTRLMSS14_0-20000118.SAR as I have MS SQL.

This is now working.

Thanks
