SYNTAX_ERROR in SPAM while applying BASIS SP12

We are applying SAP_BASIS 7.00 support packs 10 through 12 and the process aborted on IMPORT_PROPER. At this point, starting SPAM, SE38, SM21, ST22 all result in SYNTAX_ERROR short dumps pointing to the same issue:

The following syntax error occurred in program "SAPLSCP2 " in include

"CL_SALV_FORM_ELEMENT==========CU " in

line 13:

"The type "IF_SALV_FORM_CONFIG" is unknown."

The system is essentially unusable at this point. We cannot get SPAM running to hopefully finish importing whatever is still needed.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Your problem sounds similar to this thread ->

but that is for SP13, suggest you have a read of it anyway, it could help you

Cheers

Thanks for the response. The post you recommended was similar but I did continue searching and found another post regarding using 'tp r3i' to manually apply the support pack contents. Everything is working now.

You can search the forum for 'tp r3i' to review the other related suggestions but essentially, it was entering the following command:

tp r3i SAPKB70012 <SID> pf=/usr/sap/trans/bin/TP_DOMAIN_<SID>.PFL tag=spam

You would substitute your <SID> and support pack number. As always, the standard disclaimer applies. It worked for us and may or may not work for you. I verified that we had a good backup before this was attempted and I would suggest the same to you, just in case.
