Signature violation trying to restore R3SYS - CRTLF and CRTPF

Hi Folks,

We are copying our DEV and QA 4.6c systems from a v5r3 270 to a v5r4 525. When trying restore R3SYS, the 2 commands CRTLF and CRTPF don't restore because of an "Object is not validly signed." CPFB723 return code 113 = system state object that has not been signed by a system trusted source, message.

Does anyone know how I can get these to restore?

Or

They look like duplicate objects of the QSYS commands with changed defaults. Does anyone know what the changes are? I can the just create them from the local V5R4 versions.

Thanks

Steve

Hi Steve,

I'm sure, that there is a system value to get them restored, but you are correct, that they are copies from QSYS. As I know, only the following is changed from 30 s:

R3SYS/CRTPF WAITFILE(120) WAITRCD(120)

R3SYS/CRTLF WAITFILE(120) WAITRCD(120)

=> Go ahead with crtdupobj and change the defaults there ...

Thanks for the prompt reply Volker.

I had it in my mind that there was a system value too, but I couldn't find it. It tried reducing QSECURITY from 40 to 30, but that didn't do it.

I will just use the CRTDUPOBJ route.

Thanks again

Hi Steven,

that is the better option anyway (and perhaps SAP should recommend it this way for ANY OS upgrade) as you can never be sure if you can use a e.g. V4R2 "command shell" against a V5R4 program behind that - this can (and will) sometimes crash !

I would thought on: QALWOBJRST

Hi Volker,

we actually do recommend it for the upgrade to V5R4... - Have a look at SAP note 976837.

Kind regards,

Thanks Dorothea and Volker.

I've become so reliant on this forum, and so used to finding the answer here, I sometimes forget to search OSS as well.

I'll follow 976837.
