SAPCAR returns with error 36

Hi All,

While doing IDES installation.....during the R3SETUP run...i get the following error:

Dear Neeraj,

SAPCAR error 36 means "error creating a softlink". There are two possibilities for this error: either SAPCAR is too old, or there is already the link in the directory SAPCAR is unpacking to and SAPCAR is not able to

overwrite it.

I would recommend you to check these possibilities, and if it does not

help please unpack the archive manually exactly as R3SETUP does it (see

.log file to find the exact syntax of the unpacking command and exact

set of options). IMPORTANT: please perform this as user ora<dbsid> in

order to get the files unpacked having the right owner, group and permissions.

As soon as that is done, you can set the option STATUS=OK (now it should be

STATUS=ERROR) in DATABASE.R3S and just re-start the R3SETUP.
