However, when I try to importing any software components from the SLD, the following error message is returned: Unable to read software component versions from System Landscape Directory "host addrres:50000"
Can anyone help please?
Many thanks in advance.
Hi
goto integration directory,and do a cache refresh.
Tools->clear SLD cache.
if this does not work then close the Integration directory and re-open it
Just check this threads where they have the same issue:
USE Tcode SLDAPICUST to fill the user PIAPPLUSER and its password. Also please check if the user is locked. If so unlock and change its password to initial

Hi,
Is your xi instance using 00 (system number). It not not check the XI installation, because it is pointing to that instance that is why it not able to look into it.
i.e if your system no is '03' for example then it shd look for host name:50300. so chk that.

Hi,
the host adrress should be the HTTP PORT i.e 8XXX AND NOT 50000
For thIs u can GOTO->TRANSACTION SMICM
THERE GOTO->SERVICES .THERE U CAN FIND THE HTTP PORT.
GIVE THT PORT IN SLD WHERE U SPECIFY THE INTEGRATION SERVER URLi.ehttp://host:port/sap/xi/engine?type=entry
here port should be the port which u find in SMICM
