Short Dumps in System Monitoring

Hi!

I set up the system monitoring in SAP Solution Manager.

The most alerts I get from short Dumps.

In order to avoid this issue I would like to optimize the settings of short dumps.

Here my questions:

- Is it possible to set the threshold values behind short dumps

- If I switch off the short dumps is there some possibilities to be inform about frequency?

- Is there some other possibilities to optimize this issue?

Hi Thom.

I think what you need is to setup in System Monitoring the threshold values for the following MTEs of the Satellite System:

Transaction RZ20 --> <Instance> --> R3Abap

This MTE has two attributes:

Shortdumps (MTE Class:R3AbapShortdumps)

Shortdumps Frequency (MTE Class:R3AbapShortdumpsFreq)

By clicking on the properties of one of each attribute you can setup the threshold for how many alerts you want to maintain (General Tab). In Performance tab you will be able to customize the threshold for the alerts.
