After offline backup the listener does not start and cannot logon the SAP system.
When logging on to OS level encounter message "TNSLSNR.EXE encountered a problem and deeded to close."
The SAP system is running, all lights are green in sapmmc.
Starting the service OracleBWQ102TNSListener and SAP system is available.
Checked backup and BRBACKUP completed successfully.

A possible workaround is to set following parameter in the listener.ora and restart the listener:
DIRECT_HANDOFF_TTC_LISTENER=OFF
Adjusted the LISTENER.ORA on 29.01.2008 17:00 to:

Backup failed and server is "out of resources".
Normal logon is not possible, on console message that the oracle listener is stopped.
Added the parameter /PAE to boot.ini and in listener.ora the parameter TRACE_LEVEL_LISTENER = 16.
Hope this will help and provide more information.
Next offline planned for tonight again.
Did anyone also encounter these error messages ?
All help welcome.
Regards,
Gidion
my oracle listener used to crash a lot when using Oarcle 10.2.0.2 with patch level 2. I upgraded to patch level 15 and do not see this problem anymore.

Added the command "net start OracleBWQ102TNSListener" after the backup and this workaround resulted in having the offline backup working and SAP system being available afterwards.

you should not need to start it after offline backup.. perhaps you are actually stopping it before backup?
you may keep the Oracle listener UP and running when taking offline backup, no need to shut it down.
if you are not shutting it down before, then this means it is crashing, check the Windows Event log and listener.log file.
