Error in DB13 with xserver

Hi everybody,

I have a problem with planning jobs in the DB13 in our SAP ERP 2005 system for our knowledge provider on MaxDB running on another server.

The jobs are ending with error messages like: "Error! connection failed to node xy for database sdb", "xserver might not be active" (for log-Backup) and "could not connect to socket [10060]" (for data-backup).

The error appears since we have installed the Support Package Stack 11 for our SAP System.

Can anybody help please? I can't find any threads or notes facing the same issue.

Thanks in advance!

Lu

Hello Lu,

You got error message: "Error! connection failed to node xy for database sdb",

"could not connect to socket " => please check that the x_server was started

on the server xy, where you have the database instance sdb.

Please check that you setup correctly the database connection in /ndb59 transaction.

Please update with additional information:

-> What SAP Basis version/SP you have currently on your system;

-> What version of the MAXDB client installed on the application server?

-> What is the version of the SDB database on the server xy?

Thank you and best regards, Natalia Khlopina

Hi Natalia,

thanks for your reply!

The setup in the DB59 is correct.

The SAP BASIS is on SP 13. I installes Support Package Stack 11 in our System. The MaxDB version of our SAP system is 7.6.0.33 and our Kpro (knowledge provider) is 7.5.0.47.

I also opened an OSS.

Thanks!

Kind regards,

Lu

Hello Lu,

Yes, I saw that you also reported the problem in the SAP OSS message 82989/2008,

where the solution & workaround to the reported issue was provided by MAXDB support.

If something left unclear, please update the OSS ticket.

Please read this thread:

Hi Natalia,

thanks for your help!

For anybody facing the problem:

From OSS I get the answer that the solution comes with Basis Support Package 15. The Problem is a "-" in the hostname of our Knowledge Provider. You can also solve it in the DBACockpit

Thanks.
