Hi Nikhil,
For Installation of SP06 :
you need to
Decide which of the following released databases you want to connect to the MDM Server:
 MaxDB
 Microsoft SQL Server
 Oracle DBMS
IBM DB2 for Linux, Unix and Windows
 IBM DB2 for z/OS
 IBM DB2 for i5/OS
With MDM 5.5 SP06 we introduce a new installation process for windows
Preparation
1. Log on to your host as a user with administrator rights.
2. Download the MDM installation archives from SAP Service Marketplace or insert the installation DVD in your DVD drive.
3. Extract the MDM installation executables.
Installation Procedure You can choose between the following
installation modes:
Install the components one by one making installation settings in a graphical user dialog.
Install one component or a set of components "silently", making the settings in a Windows initialization file (extension .ini). For more information about installation prerequisites and dependencies of individual components, see the following chapters.
Graphical Mode
Doubleclick the installation executables one by one and follow the instructions on the screen.
Silent Mode
To install a single component proceed as follows:
1. Open a Windows Command Prompt and navigate to the folder containing the extracted installation executable(s).
2. Launch the executable and pass it the parameter /s and the path to an initialization file (for example, enter MDMServerInstall.exe /s install.ini).
With the optional initialization file you can override the default installation settings. You can use one.ini file for all components. We ship a sample .ini file together with the installation executables. For more information about the file structure and the individual settings, see the initialization file.
To install a collection of components at once proceed as follows:
1. Create a Windows batch file (create a new .txt file and rename it to .bat file).
2. Open the batch file in a text editor and enter one installation command for each component in separate lines. For a lean MDM core installation, the batch file may look as follows:
MDMServerInstall.EXE /s install.ini
MDMConsoleInstall.EXE /s install.ini
MDMDataManagerInstall.EXE /s install.ini
MDMImportManagerInstall.EXE /s install.ini
MDMLanguageSelectorInstall.EXE /s install.ini
MDMSyndicatorInstall.EXE /s install.ini
With the optional initialization file you can override the default installation settings. You can use one initialization file for all components. We ship a sample .ini file together with the installation executables. See the initialization file for more information about the file structure and the individual
settings.
3. Save the batch file and launch it either by double-clicking it or using a Windows Command Prompt.
I hope this help. Please Reward if it is helpful.

Hello All,
We are using MDM 5.5 Servie Pack 05 subversion 5.5.42.48 over HPUX itanium based servers.
We have noticed that the performance degrades when we install MDM over HPUX.
Infact it takes double the time then what it takes on windows based MDM installation.
Do you know of any parameters which needs to be tuned for HPUX based MDM performance improvements.
Best Regards
Amit

Hi Amit,
I dont know HPUX parameters, but you can use these things to improve your server performance:
1. Use update indices to load all repositories.
2. Take archive on local machine of those reposotories which are not in use and delete them from MDM server.
3. periodically take archive of different servers log and delete them from log folders.
4. Remove the repository languages which are not in use, they will headache your server.
5. Do minimize the use of calculated, indexes, unnessary key generation fields.
6. Always use latest build for MDM, currently is MDM 5.5 SP06 patch 1 and for SP05 5.5.42.98.
7. Use CCMS to monitor MDM server performance.
from hardware point of view you can increse memory of disk or system.
Rewards if found helpful.

Hi,
I dont think its possible.
You can have only one server on one machine at a time,
because some dll files and target files always go under Windows folder of system and when a new version of some software is being installed on that system its automatically update the previous version.
