Extracting Extended Idoc using MDM_CLNT_EXTR

Former Member

Hi Experts,

We are transferring Material master data of SAP to SAP MDM through XI.

We have created an extended idoc of MATMAS05 as ZMATMAS05 but standard transaction mdm_clnt_extr can extract data for material and generates idoc of MATMAS05 only.

Could some one explain us the procedure to extract an extended idoc using mdm_clnt_extr ?

Thanks & Regards,

Jitesh Talreja

Hi Jitesh,

As per the scenario , u are trying with Material Master i suppose. For the Check tables values use the standard MDM client extractor Program which will give u all check tables values in XML format directly which can be directly imported in MDM.

From MDM side the sdandard Business Content should be used for the Material. For the master Table XI should be used .There's no other option as per my Knowledge.

Use the XSD available with the standard business content (MDM) for creation of the mapping structure in XI.

XI will convert the Master table values in XML from IDOCS.

While pushing the data back XI has to be leveraged again.

Hope it helps u.

Hi Jitesh,

SAP Note 1035601 describes how this can be done. Steps to do are:

- create a new extraction object using your IDoc Type

- check if the standard extraction function module is able to select your data - if not, you have to enhance the existing FM or create a new one
