please tell me if SECAT works for PFCG. If yes, please provide some tips.

Hi Novice!

What do you want it to do?

Easy:

Copy roles

Delete roles

Create derived roles (but not populate the org levels)

Hard:

Populate Org levels

Basically you can almost rule out anything which requires you to scroll (e.g. adding lots of org levels).

SCAT was far easier to use to populate org levels (but there were still problems with scrolling). SECATT is an extremely manual process. You could probably manually create 30-40 derived roles by hand in the time it would take to script it, and you need to create a script for virtually every single parent/master role.

There are a few SECATT tutorials out there, so google for them and have a go at all of them to get familiar with the tool. Once you have done that then creating basic role admin scripts won't be too difficult.
