Hello All!
We have had the payroll process hang because of a failure of the rfc connection using the gateway. The process is trying to connect to the BSI (TaxFactory) programs on the OS level. It seems to timeout and it retrys over and over.
We applied a new level of Kernel from 124 to 142 with dbsl level 117 going to 138. Over the weekend and some PTFs that were in the INFOAPAR.
SM59 fails to connect to the TF80 library (The TCPIP setup is specified in the BSI install note 1064089.
We have checked authority on OS level.
All other gateway access seems to be working as well as TP such as transports from the development system.
Any Ideas?
Thanks,
Pat
Hi All,
Problem solved: The kernel level 142 had issues and was incompatible with the O4TRC, TP and R3trans. This kernel caused problems with our transport queue also and I believe was similar to the problem mentioned in the forum by Rene Lang.
We did have to reconfigure the BSI Taxfactory entry in SM59 and I did discover that the security file that Volker mentions does exist.
Thanks,
Pat

We are on a 700 kernel and I don't think that file is used.
I created an OSS message and we will return to the older kernel.
Thanks.

Hello again,
We discovered that the old kernel will fix the problem on the QA system. I suspose I should report this to SAP.
Thanks for the quick reply Volker. Do you have any ideas otherwise we drop the system and go back?

Hi Pat,
the only one:
Does the kernel contain the file SEC ?
If the old one does and the new one not, just copy this one over ... (authorization issue - a la note #786563)

Hi Volker,
It is the "Start on Application sever type.
The payroll job would appear in smgw then go away. The trace says it is timing out.

I needed to mention that we are running ECC 6.0 and HR / payroll is at patch level 25. Basis is at 13 and things have been running very well lately.

Hi Pat,
do you use registered mode or "start up" mode ?
If registered mode: Do you see BSI in SMGW in "logged in clients" ?
