Portal 7.0 and Java EE support

Hello Experts,

We will download SAP NetWeaver Composition Environment 7.1 SR3 to create application on jdk 1.5 platform.

But when we will run the application on portal?

We are running on EP 7.0 .Do we have to upgrade portal to a newer versiyon to run applications which are created in NetWeaver Composition Environment.

Hello PG,

you can use FPN (Federated Portal Network).

In this scenario you use two portals. One (or more)

producer Portals and one (or more) consumer protals.

As Producerportal you use Netweaver-CE 7.1 with JEE 5 and for the

Consumer you use your productive Portal (example: Netweaver 2004s with J2EE) .

You answered my question.But what if we want to use Portal which supports Jdk 1.5?

Our other scenario is installing NetWeaver CE 7.1 portal instead of NetWeaver 2004s Portal.

Is it possible to use application created in NetWeaver CE on Portal NetWeaver Ce ?

NWCE7.1 includes portal, of course you can run java EE5 app on it.

How can we install Portal on NetWeaver Composition Environment ?

I can not find any document on service.sap.com.

here you can find the Installation Guide for the Developter Edition:

The Installation Guide for the production edition is dependent from your system-environment (Linux or Windows) and

databases (MaxDB,Oracle,MS-Sql-Server)

Search in sdn under 'Installation Guide Netweaver CE' and

you will find all the information you need.

when you install Netweaver CE 7.1 SP03 (SP04 is now available and has nice features) the Portal is included during the installation.

After Installation you can call the Portal

with http://servername:5xx00/irj (xx = your Systemnumber)

It´s very easy
