Hi Experts,

Can anyone please tell me what are the things i should know if i am going to do SAP EP from a java point of view .For example for creating I views and all. I don't know anything about java as i am an abaper .Can anyone please provide me with some documents for studying the same.

Hi! Sanoj,

Welcome to SAP EP World!!!!!!!!!!

Technically speaking SAP EP is nothing but a webapplication to show different other application,it's provide you a platform on which you can integrate other application.Definitely the scope of EP goes beyond what ever i have written.

Now coming to your question-- what you need to learn to work with portal.

In portal we have Administrative task as well as developer task.

Administrative task i mean creating a user,role,group,assigning a role to a group or user.

Development means modifying any par file or creating any webDynpro application to fullfll any client request.

SAP has already provided a lots of functionality in portal which are in par file.like Logon page or masthead page of portal.

If you want to custom develop any application then there are to technology one is Java and the other is ABAP.

To work with par file, you should know how to download your par file on your local system and how to configure it into NWDS(it's an IDE).
