Hi,
when I want to valuate a qualitative char, I get the error "The mean value is not defined- a valuation is not possible".
I created and added a selected set for the char. Do I have to add a valuation code somewhere? I don't use sampling procedures and I don't use inspection plans.
What other setting do I need?
Rgds, Jesscia
You need to use a sampling procedure where the valuation rule is set to "attributive" instead of "mean value".

Hi Amber,
there is no five-digit code as in other error messages. It's an error message list.
When I click F1 on the error message, a new window pops up that says: "Error Text from Table 100 for the Message Number". I could also send you a screen shot if you want.
Craig,
where can I assign a sampling procedure if I don't use inspection plans? I didn't see that I can define it directly for a characteristic.
Rgds, Jessica
Sorry, I checked in a system and you should identify the sampling procedure in QS61. Select the characteristic line and then select the details icon, (bottom of screen, 4th icon from left, looks like a magnifing glass). It should take you to a screen where you can enter in the sampling procedure.

Hi Jessica,
Could you please send me the 5 digit error code you are recieving So I could check the error in detail.
Thanks
