Config SDM with NWDS 7.1 Composition Environment SP03

Hello,

I work on SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio

SAP NetWeaver 7.1 Composition Environment SP03 PAT0000

When i try deploy a webdynpro application, i get the following message :

No default system is configured in SAP System Registry

Where can I configure the SDM in NWDS ?

Hello Denis,

on which server you want to deploy? Is your NWDS younger than your engine on which you want deploy?

Maybe that could be the reason for this error.

In the SAP-Note 718949 you can find the following sentence:

"In short the formula goes like this: inside a given release the engine can be younger but never older than the IDE and the CBS has to be in sync with the IDE."

SAP doesn' t support if SAP Netweaver Developer Studio will be patched without upgrading the Web AS J2EE.

Try to use the local Web AS which is delivered with CE 7.1 and you will see that you can deploy your WebDynpro on that machine.

I configured the WAS java following this help :

and there are nothing about SDM troubleshooting

Just to confirm have you checked the default check box on the top after selecting the SAP system.

You can get the Message Server Host and Message server port number to enter in the NWDS from the URL

Htpp:
<hostname:portno>\index.htm l-- select system information.

You need to have proper credentials to get those get data.

Enter those details in the NWDS--Windows preferencesJ2EE engine.

I defined the instance host and number. But I get this message :

[time] Checking for SDM host...

[time] Found SDM host : <host>

[time] SDM port not defined or not found

So where can I configure the SDM port ?

They talk about an option for the SDM port in the preference setting in the thread you give. I got it in the old version of NWDS. But in the newest, i have just the parameter of instance WAS java host and number, I found nothing about SDM.

So how can I solve this port problem ?

have you entered the instance and the host???

is your SDM running??/???

if you have entered both then it should ideally deploy to the engine.
