Solution Manager Instance on same host installed as ERP Instance

Hello everybody,

I'm a newbie on SAP, and I tried to install ERP on RedHat-Linux. First I installed Solution-Manager, because its' necessary for Keygen to latering install of ERP.

But I had some troubles to install ERP on same plattform.

Meanwhile i can run only one Instance (SM or ERP) but not both in parallel (some Ports already used?) Therefor I have some questions and I hope its the right forum I'm asking for.

- During Install of SM a SLD connection was requested, I thought it's part of SM, is it right? If not, how do install System-Landscape? In some forums I found SLD runs inside Java-Stack?!?

- Maybe I had missunderstood some points of Install-Dialog, but what do I have do declare or observe for ID, Instance#, directories to have both (SM and ERP) running on the same machine

- Is it necessary to have a CI and DB Instance for SM and ERP?

Hello,

after Reinstalling everybody (First Web-AS, configure SLD, install SM and then installing ERP) everything works.

But I had to care with System-Id's I want to use.

Previously I used 00 for SM, and 01 for ERP and Web-AS for SLD used also 01 for its SCS. Now I verified in any case if the ID is really free.

Regards.

Hello Manfred,

I suggest that you should post this question in the Forum which fits better to this problem.

I hope this is only a test system you're installing because for production this will not be supported by SAP.

Hello Gregor,

yes, this installation is only on a Testsystem - for internal use, to test/certify our Software. Also the machine is not very powerful and we know that some Transactions will take a while, but our interests are only, that this configuration runs (a whole ECC environment, with SM too)!
