We are in process of implementing SAP IS- Retail solution for a Small Business. We are planning for installation on OS: Linux with DB: MAXDB.
We are looking for a High Availability solution on our linux platform. We are having constraints of cost. Please suggest us about third party software or any Linux utility that will help us to achieve High Availability in our landscape with good
stability, that will fit in budget of small business like us.
Hi Nikhil,
HP ServiceGuard with SAP extention is a good solution, but I'm not sure if it support MaxDB

HP ServiceGuard does support MaxDB according to the documentation in your link you provided.

Thanks, I've been looking for a good solution for some time and with our HP blades and HP SAN this seems exactly what we need

Hello Nikhil,
also the linux vendor RedHat and Novell offer HA solutions. The RedHat Cluster Suite as well as Novell heartbeat are ready for SAP HA.

Hi Nikhil,
[SteelEye Solutions |http://www.steeleye.com/solutions/database.html#3]supports HA for Linux and (when I last checked a few months back) MaxDB.
Hope that helps.
