Regarding Roles and SAP Table space

Hi gurus,

I'm just started moving from SAP ABAP to SAP WEB AS 6.40 recently.I have doubt regarding User Management -->Roles and authorizations and TABLE SPACE.

1)Can SAP_ALL profile given to all users or only SAP Basis should hold them?Pls give me more insoght on how to assign roles for BI,XI,EP etc.

Is there any SAP BASIS best practices guide available?

2)Some SAP Tables growing very fast,can you advise me how to control them

Tables-SXMSCLUR/SXMSCLURP around 332657 entries in those tables.

Please kindly advise me.

Only your basis team should have SAP_ALL and maybe not even them. it sounds like your project is just starting up so you probably have a lot of leeway. Give it only to basis team members and literally to nobody else.

Hi Shankar,

Don't Give SAP_ALL to any of the users ,not even to the developers .

Coz it is the role which contains all the transactions in SAP.

ROLE : PREVENTING USERS FROM uNAUNTHORIZED ACCESS.

(it's a collection of Transactions )

If your user is an MM guy , just give MM roles only . This revents him from accessing FI reports and all...
